Hotel Jen Tanglin, Singapore by BTR Workshop INTERIORS / 28 OCTOBER 2017 / BY S O I S O U R C E
Designed by BTR Workshop, the designers behind the makeover of the newly renovated design hotel on Singapore’s famous Orchard Road. Hong Kong-based design firm has engaged a fun & cheerful ambience to the guestrooms, the dining room and the club lounge of the building. The space is full of mix-and-match of textures and bold color contrasts to reflect the culture of the cosmopolitan Singapore, without comprising on functionality and convenience. The overall mood is carefully set out based on warm, welcoming wooden tone, but some tiny eccentric twists are here and there to retouch and upgrade - such that each of the guestrooms and communal areas speaks out their own personality.

Entrance Lobby wants to showcase the brand identity of the fast-growing Hotel Jen Group. There are custom-designed feature screens, planter boxes, art creations at reception desk, wall hanging art pieces. Needless to mention about the unique custom-made communal sofa and a smart, iconic grab & go café, all being set out to refresh tired travelers. A must-not-missed highlight will be the herringbone walnut wall around the staircase to L2.

Club Lounge provide all-day-dining to pamper hungry travelers. Some “heavy” elements such as marble countertop, concrete column panels, glazed wood mosaic and East-Asia food market inspired pendants lights has graced up the entire area but not being too solemn, thanks to the high ceiling. There have been a variety of seating, from high table seats, dining chairs made of warm walnuts and caramel leather, to outdoor canopy covered lounge, spectrums of dining requirement can be catered simultaneously with clean space zoning.

Guestrooms are infused with four locally inspired design themes – bicycles, orchids, goldfishes and shop houses. All rooms incorporate a “floating bed” design, some come with day-beds at the bay window, portable marble side table for an effortless resort aura. Of course, standard compartment features, e.g. storage, mini-bar counter, work space, in-room multi-purpose dining counter, international plus & USB charging stations etc., are found in these rooms for sure, and will be only found to be even more sleek and convenient than the conventional design.
